Clinical exposureComplex extremity injuries and their sequelae at a Level 2 trauma and regional referral centre (about 1,500 trauma cases a year including high-energy injuries, fragility and periprosthetic fractures, plus sports injuries from the Sea-to-Sky region). The fellow rotates between six orthopaedic trauma surgeons, operates about 4 days a week in the trauma room with 1 clinic day, takes call about 1 in 4 days or weekends with a staff surgeon, and teaches students and residents.
