PRIVACY

Your information should remain understandable.

This page explains what OrthoFellow stores, why it is used and where information remains only on your device. Last updated 30 August 2026.

Shortlists and applicant preferences

Your device shortlist and preliminary eligibility profile remain in browser storage unless you deliberately import a programme into the signed-in application dashboard. Clearing browser storage may remove device-only preferences.

Private application dashboard

When you sign in and use the dashboard, OrthoFellow stores programme identifiers, application stage, personal dates, next actions, readiness checks, unresolved questions and private notes for your account. Server-side ownership checks prevent one signed-in user from requesting another user’s plans. These private records are not published, indexed, added to structured data or included in aggregate search analytics.

Application reminders and calendar files

Application reminders are optional. If you opt in, OrthoFellow stores your signed-in email, selected intervals, personal reminder date, consent state, verification state and delivery outcome. Reminders remain inactive until email confirmation and are sent only when a current official source supports the programme status and deadline. Calendar files are generated on request from eligible dates and are not publicly indexed.

Institutional profile requests

If a programme representative submits “Manage this fellowship profile”, OrthoFellow receives the submitted name, institutional role, institutional email, supporting link, requested update, programme identity and submission time. A private owner-gated workflow records review state and editorial notes. Submissions cannot automatically overwrite a public programme profile.

Institution partnership enquiries

If you request a pilot or commercial conversation, OrthoFellow stores the name, role, institution, institutional email, country, selected need, optional context, consent time and workflow status you submit. These details are available only in the protected internal workflow and do not influence editorial verification or ranking.

Programme suggestions and deadline preferences

Evidence-led programme submissions contain the contact details, relationship, programme information, official source and note you provide. Deadline preferences contain your email and selected pathway, subspecialty or country. Brevo processes the confirmation and alert emails on OrthoFellow’s behalf; a preference remains inactive until the confirmation link is opened.

Public programme information

Programme, institution and faculty information is compiled from publicly accessible official programme, hospital, university, professional-society and accreditation sources. Source links and checked dates are displayed where available.

Cookies and analytics

OrthoFellow uses essential browser storage for saved preferences. It records privacy-preserving aggregate events for search, filters, shortlist actions, comparisons, reminder creation, sign-in intent, official-source clicks, institution enquiries and profile claims. Raw search text, names, email addresses, private notes, IP addresses and user-agent strings are not stored in OrthoFellow’s internal analytics tables. When configured, Google Analytics receives only event categories and non-personal page context with IP anonymisation enabled.

Advertising and consent

OrthoFellow publishes its Google AdSense account identifier so Google can verify site ownership. While the site is under review, Google-served advertising is disabled by default. If advertising is enabled after approval, its loader is limited to selected public directory hubs, guides and data reports; it is excluded from fellowship profiles, private tools, forms, legal pages and error pages. Google and approved advertising partners may use cookies or similar local storage and process device, interaction and approximate-location information according to their own privacy terms. Ad serving is configured only after a Google-certified consent management platform has been confirmed ready for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner-sites policy and read OrthoFellow’s advertising safeguards.

Retention and corrections

Institutional profile requests may be retained while they are reviewed and while an editorial record is needed. Do not submit patient information, passwords, licensing documents or other sensitive clinical data.

Questions or corrections

Programme representatives can use Manage this fellowship profile. Applicants and other contributors can use the moderated correction form. General contact options are explained on the Contact page.
