  • Prerequisite specialty: Ortopeda y/o Neurocirujano (orthopaedic surgeon and/or neurosurgeon)
  • Specialist title (or completion letter) in the prerequisite specialty
  • Exequátur and Colegio Médico Dominicano (CMD) membership certificate (<3 months old, dues paid)
  • Pass the subspecialty exam set by the subspecialty's contest commission with at least 80/100 to qualify for the interview
  • Foreign graduates must validate their degree in the Dominican Republic and reside in the country, meeting the same requirements as Dominicans (general requirements)
  • Candidates may compete for only one programme; residents have exclusive dedication (no private practice or teaching)

About Hospital Traumatológico Dr. Ney Arias Lora / Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD)

Hospital Traumatológico Dr. Ney Arias Lora (inaugurated 11 August 2010, Santo Domingo Norte) is a public third-level trauma hospital of the Servicio Regional Metropolitano de Salud with 177 beds, 20 ICU beds and 8 operating theatres for general and orthopaedic surgery; it began its residency programmes, including orthopaedic subspecialties, in July 2022 with UASD.
