Clinical exposureEach fellow is expected to participate in more than 200 surgical oncologic cases, usually as primary surgeon with the consultant assisting, through quarterly rotations with each operating orthopaedic oncologist covering axial and appendicular sarcoma care. Fellows manage new tumour patients, inpatients and emergency presentations (e.g. pathologic fractures), coordinate with medical, radiation and paediatric oncology, radiology and pathology, have protected research time, and lead quarterly cadaveric anatomic dissections for residents.
